Answer first: The Detroit Lions announced on November 1 that Wu-Tang Clan will headline the halftime show of their Thanksgiving Day Classic against the Chicago Bears on November 26 - a show executive-produced by Eminem and his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg.
Key points
- The 87th Thanksgiving Day Classic kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on November 26 at Ford Field, on CBS
- Wu-Tang Clan headlines halftime; Eminem and Paul Rosenberg executive-produce, as they did in 2025 when Jack White headlined and Eminem made a surprise appearance
- Rosenberg in the announcement: "We often like to do things that are both exciting and unexpected... Both Eminem and myself have been Wu fans since the early 90s"
- Wu-Tang Clan is part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2026, with the induction ceremony on November 14 - twelve days before the game
Why it's trending
Selection basis: "eminem" sat in the top 10 of Google's US trending searches on November 2 as outlets covered the Lions' November 1 announcement. A New York group headlining a Detroit tradition, picked by Detroit's own Eminem, is the kind of cross-coast booking that drives music news cycles.
What's confirmed / What's not
Confirmed: the Lions' announcement, the date and broadcast details, the Eminem-Rosenberg production role, and the Wu-Tang Hall of Fame induction date.
Not confirmed: any on-stage guest list or set details - none have been announced. Separately, a Kid Rock collaboration with Eminem called "Heal My Faith" made news on November 2 after Kid Rock said its gospel choir was AI-generated; that is a different story from the halftime announcement.
What to watch
Whether Eminem appears on stage himself on November 26, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on November 14.
